I was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1981. I received my B.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, in 2003 and my M.A.Sc. from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada, in 2006 (both in electrical engineering). In 2006, I joined the Biomedical Imaging Group, headed by Prof. Michael Unser, at the EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, as a Ph.D. student and assistant. My main research interests are in stochastic modelling, mathematical signal processing, and convex optimization.
